Sites You Follow Replacing MySugar Feature!

Does this mean we'll be getting an e-mail for the Sugar sites when they post, like we do for our other OnSugar sites we follow?

Ok I'm trying to play by the new rules.

When I go to onsugar.com I see the sites I follow but it only shows me a title of the post, a pictures and a link.

wheras on MySugar I got a paragraph and a lot more information.

Can we have onsugar more like Mysugar? I like to read an intro before I commit to a click through...

I agree with Syako, this is especially helpful with dear sugar post, because the picture doesn't really tell that much about the post. love the redesign tho. oo, and syako- u can also just go to www.my.teamsugar.com and mysugar is still there, i dunno if it will be there forever tho

I hate getting all those emails!!! My inbox will be full of them, can we at least get the option to not get them in our personal email.
I am with Wren are we getting emails everytime something is posted on OnSugar????!!!

Are we getting an answer for this??? I want to start following these sites but I don't want any more emails from Onsugar!!! It's tough enough to weed thru the ones I do get!!

i second syako; i'd like an intro before deciding whether i'll click and read the entire post.. that's what i like the most about mysugar!

I really hate this new layout. I prefer MySuar because it allows me to glance at the posts. I don't have time to click and follow every link.

I'm very confused with the new layout. I prefer the MySugar layout. It is much more userfriendly.

confused. give me MYSUGAR BACK!!! either need better directions with images of WHERE to click to follow. plz... I want to see my sites!

Apparently today the MySugar page consistently redirects here and we are officially forced to use the OnSugar. This upsets me for many reasons:
1) OnSugar is badly organized, takes longer to load on my computer, and while more modern looking is not attractive to me at all.
2) It is impossible for me to find anything using OnSugar.
3) I can never get any link to my inbox to open properly from OnSugar, and rarely can I get into anything relating to points.
4) Most importantly, the entire reason I used MySugar was to have a quick convenient place to read all the updates I cared about quickly, with a paragraph blurb for each that gave enough information for me to decide right away if I wanted to open the post in a tab for further reading. OnSugar does not give enough information for me to decide and provides what little information it can in what may possibly be the least user-friendly format I've found in a long time.

I've loved the Sugar network for a very long time and now with this change I am wondering how often I will visit. I find that I frequently stop visiting sites that aren't user friendly solely because they aren't worth my time and right now OnSugar really isn't.

This is a horrible idea. I liked being able to read a snippet of a post, as well as distinguishing the different team members by color. This is confusing and less informative. Please bring back the old format. Don't be like facebook and drive us away!!

If this is going to stay the only way to view posts I am going to have to stop coming I'm afraid. Without descriptions of the posts/photos it will take too much time to click on all the links. I do like the side column with the different categories but it all useless if I don't have the time do click on every link.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about this. I'll probably just stop visiting all the other sites except for Team.

sorry pop... not a fan of this either. i don't like the fact you can only read the headlines, not the stories. this would make me leave the site.. which would make me said cause i've loved following for several years.

Yeah, I agree that a description of the post similar to what we had on mysugar would make things easier. Honestly just scrolling through all the pictures with just a headline make me less inclined to read something. Not sure if I will continue to use the site

why mess with a good thing??? oh and the color thing too... knowing what sugar site its from... this just looks like a cheaper thrown together version...

i really really REALLY dont like onsugary i dont find it easy or clear to use whatsoever and i HATE getting pointless emails from the "sites i follow" which is why i dont follow any sites.....we shouldnt be forced into using this new feature when mysugar worked so well!!! is there any way to have the option of using both???

I'm usually on board for changes being made to websites to make them easier to use, even if in the short run it takes getting used to. However, I'm NOT liking this. I don't want to use a RSS reader, or get emails, about each of my sugar sites. Please bring back my.teamsugar.com ! I, too, am unsure if I will stay with the Sugar Network if I have to subscribe to each site.

i just went to check out onsugar (i hadnt visited the site in a VERY long time) and its IMPOSSIBLE to understand or follow ... its not user friendly it doesnt make sense and i just dont like it....if this new change is permanent i dont think ill be returning to teamsugar which is really sad becuase i have LOVED using this site but onsugar is awful and i refuse to use it.

this layout doesnt make me want to click on any posts... cuz i have no clue what they are about :S

I agree wholeheartedly with the others: bring back the old MySugar! Yes, I know it "takes awhile to get used to a new layout," and I'm not even one who usually complains about new designs, but I really really really liked being able to read a snippet of the post before clicking.

Change isn't always good, this is one of those times. There are plenty of other sites I don't have to jump through hoops to get the info that I was previously able to get with a simple scroll of my mouse wheel. Bad idea guys, just bad.

I don't like the new format either. And I miss Giggle Sugar. I can't remember where you said you moved it to. Very frustrating.

i am really unhappy with the change also... honestly, i was very happy with how i had everything set up and will probably go from visiting multiple times a day to maybe once a week( if that) if this change is permanent.

I used to read all the sugar sites and finally signed up about a year and some months ago...I really loved the mysugar idea when it switched to that - it was my homepage. I'm not a fan of onsugar and i don't know if i want to keep visiting.

Leaving Sugar today.. sad, but this new format bites. I'll just go to digg or something else for my spare reading time.

I was wondering why I had started to get so many e-mails from a couple of sugar sites that I was following the posts from. Very disappointed with the new layout. Under no circumstance I want to have 10-15 e-mails from the sugar sites for updates... Not cool, love you guys a lot but not cool.

Also not a big fan of this headline business, atleast with mysugar I would quikly browse through the posts in one go, I am not going to be clicking through each and every headline to see what is going on with the story, I thought we were members of a sugar website not Twitter!

We need a response from Sugar about the questions posted above! or are you also recieving headlines in you in-tray "43 comments posted for the update"?

Please make it more like MySugar, like everyone is saying -- with a snippet of info after the headline and photo. The current format just plain stinks.

I don't mind the new way, however, I think that Sugar could have made this transition more seamless for us my.teamsugar.com users. Instead of having the user go to each site and clicking "follow", this should have been done automatically for us.

Since my customized MyTeamsugar page is stored in a database somewhere with my username, I don't think it would be too difficult to move those settings into the database that stores what pages a username 'follows.'

This way, I could be redirected to this page which would announce, "We apologize but my.teamsugar.com is closed. However, you can still view your customized page via OnSugar - just go to this URl and everything's all set up for you."

I'm not sure how different the back-end is for OnSugar than the old site but forcing the user to go to every single Sugar site that they like, then click "follow" is really really tedious. Especially since I've had my TeamSugar page set-up perfectly for over a year now.

This format is horrible. I loved the old layout and will not continue to use Sugar with the new "onSugar" setup. Leaving you guys today, sorry.

I agree with many of the comments above. I understand that the formatting and look of the page is something that might just take some getting used to, but the fact that it doesn't include intro paragraphs is a big change, makes it more difficult to navigate, and can definitely be a deal-breaker. I also noticed that it still says "on sugar beta" - usually you don't migrate over until the bugs have been worked out and the new site is no longer beta. Just a thought.

Since there have been a lot of complaints about the photo-only summary on the "Sites I'm Following" page, perhaps this could be a user-configurable setting. For example, I would actually rather only see text than the picture (mainly for work reasons, also for page loading time). If I could change how the summary is presented on the settings page, with choices such as "Text & Photo", "Text Only", "photo Only", that would cover all your bases!
